Minister Shahin discusses with the Mexican Ambassador the prospects of mutual cooperation between the two countries

16/05/2024 - The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, discussed with the Mexican Ambassador to Palestine, Mr. Pedro Blanco Perez, the bilateral relations between Mexico and Palestine, with Shahin acknowledging Mexico's steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause in international forums. The Ambassador was briefed on the latest developments in the ongoing Israeli genocide, emphasizing the immediate need for ceasefire and humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza. Shahin also highlighted the escalating settler attacks in the West Bank under the protection of the Israeli Army, attributing the current situation to Israel's lack of accountability by the international community.

For his part, Ambassador Pedro affirmed his country's consistent and supportive stance on the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, adding that he is monitoring what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank and is keen on conveying the situation accurately to his country.

Both parties underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation across various sectors and agreed to hold political consultations to strengthen relations.
