Dr. Shahin Receives Head of the Canadian Representative Office and Briefs Him on Recent Developments

15/05/2024 - Dr.Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met today with David Da Silva, Head of the Canadian Representative Office in Palestine. Shahin briefed Da Silva on the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. She emphasized the importance of Canada recognizing the State of Palestine and facilitating the work of the Palestinian General Delegation in Canada.

Shahin discussed the government's plans to enhance relief efforts in Gaza, restore essential services, and gather international support to empower the Palestinian government's agenda amidst a severe financial crisis. She also highlighted the significance of student movements in American and European universities protesting against Israeli aggression.

Da Silva reaffirmed Canada’s support for the two-state solution and a just peace, committed to international resolutions, and assured continued support for the Palestinian people through various developmental projects.
