During the meeting, Li delivered three messages from Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. In his messages, Minister Wang reaffirmed China’s position that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are integral parts of the Palestinian territory, stressing that any Israeli attempts aimed at annexation undermine the principle of the two-state solution. He also emphasized the importance of continued international efforts to consolidate the ceasefire and advance reconstruction efforts.
Minister Shahin expressed her appreciation to the People’s Republic of China for its consistent support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination in international forums and for backing the realization of the State of Palestine. She also commended China’s contributions to strengthening Palestinian capacities across various sectors and its support for development projects, in addition to the humanitarian assistance provided to the Gaza Strip through the World Food Programme and UNICEF, including medical equipment and in-kind aid.
Li, for his part, thanked the State of Palestine for its support for China and reaffirmed his country’s firm and longstanding position in support of the Palestinian cause and the two-state solution, stressing that China will continue to stand by the Palestinian people until a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution is achieved and their legitimate national rights are realized.
