Tammoun Massacre Constitutes an Extrajudicial Execution and a Continuation of Genocidal Crimes in the Occupied West Bank

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the horrific massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Tammoun, southeast of Toubas, on Sunday morning. The attack resulted in the killing of a Palestinian man, his wife, and their two children after Israeli forces opened fire on their vehicle. Two other children were also injured.

The crime represents a shocking act of extrajudicial execution, as the entire Palestinian family was deliberately targeted while inside their car. Israeli forces also reportedly prevented Palestinian Red Crescent medical teams from reaching and assisting the injured, leaving them without immediate medical aid.

Such crimes, alongside the escalating violence carried out by Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank, are not isolated incidents, but part of a broader and systematic campaign aimed at the destruction and forced displacement of the Palestinian people, exploiting the wider regional escalation.

Israel bears full and direct responsibility for this crime and the broader pattern of attacks against Palestinian civilians. The international community, United Nations institutions, and competent international courts must take immediate and decisive action to advance investigations into genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, ensure full accountability for those responsible, and bring an end to the persistent culture of impunity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates will continue to intensify its political, legal, and diplomatic efforts across international forums to pursue perpetrators and all those responsible for policies of killing, displacement, and the targeting of Palestinian families and children, while working to secure urgent international protection for the Palestinian people, safeguard the Palestinian presence on its land, and uphold the Palestinian people’s legitimate national rights in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.
