Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates Dr. Riad Malki in the presence of Minister of Finance Dr. Shukri Bishara members of the European diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Palestine the repercussions of Israeli piracy from Palestinian tax revenues, and the reflection on the ground The European Union calls for the need to put pressure on Israel and to discourage this unjust decision against the Palestinian people and its finances, stressing the position of the Palestinian leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, to pay the salaries of families of prisoners and martyrs as a national priority in the first instance

He stressed that the Palestinian leadership was in the process of forwarding a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, so that France, as the host country to sign the Paris economic agreement, would assume its responsibility, "and France has a moral obligation to implement the agreement."

Minister Dr. Malki added that the Palestinian leadership will put forward the Israeli decision to deduct the proceeds of set-off at the first Arab-European summit meeting, to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh in the period 24-25 February, and to ask the participating countries to assume their responsibilities towards the Israeli decision, and then The subject will be submitted to the Human Rights Council, to be held in the period 1-2 March, and the periodic meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers, to be held in the period 6-7 March.

Minister Dr. Al-Maliki said that the Israeli decision to deduct the revenue from the set-off "carries clear political and financial implications. We can only see an overlap between Israel's decision to deduct the set-off and the punitive decisions of the U.S. government at many levels, which are aimed at subjecting the leadership and the Palestinian people to the so-called century bargain. The decision is a political one with distinction, and what America wants is piracy with an Israeli vision. "

Minister Dr. Malki  stressed that any action taken by the Palestinian leadership to confront the Israeli decision "must not be borne by one side, but will be borne by all", calling on all groups of society to shoulder their responsibilities to confront this decision, "there is no use of any government decision that is not adhered to by all."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates issued a statement renewing its rejection of the Israeli decision to deduct from the set-off "and condemns in the strongest terms the decision of the occupation to piracy Palestinian money, and considers it a dangerous escalation in the open war waged by the American and Israeli administration against our people and our leadership, in an attempt Debunked to bring our leadership and surrender to it, and to complete the passage of the so-called "deal of the Century" aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and removing it from the peace of international interests. "

"The decision to pirate the Palestinian money is an extension of the coup d'état of the ruling right in Israel on all the agreements signed with the Palestinian side, which is the last nail in the coffin of the Paris agreement, and this colonial decision comes at a time when the occupying Power is keen," the foreign ministry said in a statement. To commemorate the members of the Zionist militias that have committed hundreds of massacres and crimes against our people since the beginning of the last century and consider them (Heroes for Freedom participated in the establishment of the state), and (immortalized) the Occupation State (remembrance) through a group of museums and highlight their criminal role in the curricula of education, in addition to the control of the occupying Power, to allocate large sums of money to their families and family. "

The ministry charged the Israeli Government with full and direct responsibility for its decision, results and repercussions, stressing that the decision "is in complete contravention of international law, constitutes a flagrant violation of the signed agreements, and will lead the Ministry of Legal and diplomatic mobility in cooperation with the ministries and competent bodies to take Israel as an occupying Power to the competent international tribunals, at the same time, the Ministry continues to work to expose this flagrant violation of international law at the level of the United Nations and its competent bodies, and it is discussing with the mission of the State of Palestine at the United Nations to determine the steps to be followed to protect the right of our people In his money, having been seized of his natural riches, land and sanctities, and of his civilization, culture and history by the Israeli occupying Power. "

Finance Minister Dr. Shukri Bishara announced that the government would keep the salaries of employees on time, but that they may be incomplete, with the exception of retirees and the allowances of families of martyrs, wounded and captives that will be fully disbursed. "This is a big challenge, we are in a confrontation and it is important to communicate with public opinion, the attack Not only on the government, but also on the private sector, there have been lawsuits recently filed against three Palestinian banks, all of which are extortion. If we all work together, we will overcome this challenge. "

Bishara alluded to a number of measures to counter the repercussions of the Israeli decision, rationalizing the spending and income sides, but stressed that raising taxes is not among the options that the government is considering.

"We are quite clear, we will not raise taxes even if it is a single penny," he said. On the contrary, we are studying their reduction on Palestinian goods, and we see the decision as an opportunity. "
