Ahead of his departure to Tunisia: Minister Dr. Malki Under the direction of President Abbas, the Palestinian issue will be distinguished in the upcoming Arab summit

   Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates Dr. Riad Malki will head to Tunisia this evening to represent the state of Palestine at the meetings of Arab foreign ministers in preparation for the Arab Summit held in Tunis on the 31st of this month. Prior to his trip, Minister Dr. Maliki unveiled a Friday meeting with President Mahmoud Abbas and listened to his directives on the issues that the state of Palestine would like to raise and turn into draft resolutions for adoption by Arab leaders at the summit meetings. Minister Dr. Malki added that the Palestinian issue would be distinguished in the meetings of Arab foreign Ministers and at the summit.

 

Minister Dr. Malki said that the convening of the Arab summit in these very circumstances is of particular importance, especially as it coincides with the 43rd anniversary of the Eternal Earth Day with all the connotations and dimensions of this meaningful anniversary related to the Palestinian land, and also coincides with the first anniversary of the return marches With its true dimensions of the steadfastness of our Palestinian people and its commitment to its just and legitimate national rights, the State of Palestine will therefore raise the issue of the ongoing attacks against our people in the Gaza Strip, the unprecedented settlement encroachment in the occupied West Bank, the confiscation of land and the demolition of houses The arrests, the Judaization of occupied East Jerusalem, the daily assaults and incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites in Jerusalem, and the punitive measures against our people raids of cities and camps, as well as the ongoing field executions. Minister Dr. Malki stressed that the issue of prisoners and what they are subjected to in the occupation prisons will also be at the forefront of the concerns of the State of Palestine at the Arab Summit. Likewise, the Israeli piracy of our funds from the set-off and the resultant stifling financial crisis and austerity measures taken by the Palestinian Authority in the aftermath, which were formulated as draft resolutions for adoption by the Ministers, are a way of bringing them to the leaders for endorsement.

 

Minister Dr. Malki stressed that the state of Palestine will demand the Arab states a clear position on the decisions of some countries to transfer their embassies to Jerusalem or open commercial representations with diplomatic representation as recently done by Hungary, and to demand a clear position regarding President Trump's decision to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan To the occupied Syrian, and the serious hints that the Ambassador of the Department of Trump David Friedman said, "Washington understands the need for Israel to have dominant security control in the West Bank," which opens the appetite of the ruling right in Israel to pressure the Trump administration to recognize the supremacy On the vast portions of the occupied West Bank in the future.
