The Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds the UN Security Council accountable for the consequences of its continued failure to stop the genocide against the Palestinian people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has once again called on the UN Security Council to uphold its legal responsibilities and take decisive action to protect the Palestinian people. It called for an immediate halt to all forms of genocide being carried out by the occupation forces, including starvation, denial of medical treatment, and forced displacement in northern Gaza. The Ministry stressed the need for binding measures to implement international law and ensure the immediate cessation of these war crimes.

The Ministry also warned of any proposed plans aimed at deepening the division between the West Bank and Gaza Strip,  as such efforts undermine the possibility of materializing  a Palestinian state on the ground. It affirmed that the occupation has no right to veto the Palestinian state’s governance in Gaza, stressing that Gaza is an integral part of the occupied State of Palestine.

The Ministry emphasized that internationally recognized Palestinian legitimacy remains the only gateway to ensuring the freedom and independence of the Palestinian people. The Ministry called on nations claiming to support the two-state solution to respect and implement their commitments, thereby materializing this solution and securing peace and stability for all parties.

Meanwhile, the Ministry continues its international political, diplomatic, and legal efforts to compel Israel to halt its genocide and to build the broadest international coalition in support of this position. These efforts include leveraging the UN General Assembly resolution that endorsed the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion.
