The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates// Deals Seriously, Responsibly and Respectfully with the Appeals of the Stranded and Continues its Efforts to Evacuate them all

In the framework of its continuous efforts to follow up the health and living conditions of the people of communities, students, refugees and stranded people in all countries of the world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, through its specialized team, have listened and followed numerous appeals and hundreds of communications and messages via emergency phones and e-mails and social media messages received by the ministry from citizens stranded in many countries.

The Ministry confirms that it deals very seriously, sincerely and carefully with these appeals and it is following it case by case even if it takes the full time of the team daily, and considers that its efforts to solve the problem of the stranded or stand at their health and living needs are an integral part of its responsibilities and in fulfillment of its professional, national and humanitarian obligations towards our people In the diaspora. The ministry followed up the problem of D. Khadr Abu Alia, a lecturer at Al-Quds University, where the occupation authorities prevented him from getting off the plane upon his arrival at the Lod airport going to his family in Jerusalem, and returned him to the United States of America despite the legality of his required documents, and the Ministry continued in this regard with several interested parties who intervened thankfully solve his problem, as he will return via the Lod Airport today to the homeland, which applies to the student, Sabreen Abu Taha, who expressed her appeal via social media the suffering of our people in Jerusalem, and the Ministry is still following up her case so that she can return to her family and parents.

At the same time, the Ministry has followed with great interest the issue of our Jerusalemites, who are stranded in brotherly Jordan, in coordination with all relevant parties. This day, 24 of them will be returned to Jerusalem via Sheikh Hussein Bridge, and the Ministry’s efforts and coordination with all parties will continue to ensure the return of all stranded Jerusalemites. On the other hand, the Ministry continues to follow the appeals of graduate students and a number of citizens stranded in Sudan, and assures our people of their health and safety first, and that the Embassy of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Sudan is in constant contact with them and provides them with all possible assistance at the health, living and therapeutic levels. This is followed by Minister Dr. Riyad Al-Malki, the Ministry, its special staff, and the Embassy of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Sudan, the stranded people who desire to return to the homeland and continue the coordination with neighboring countries and their ambassadors in Sudan to discuss the possibility of returning them.

The Ministry follows the conditions of all the stranded Palestinians, whether individual or collective cases, as is the case for those stranded in Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Algeria, the Emirates, etc., and deals with each case with great interest as a humanitarian and national case and with high responsibility. These appeals should not reflect or be understood from the citizens as if they came against the backdrop of a failure by the ministry towards our stranded citizens, on the contrary, the special team in the ministry deals with it with seriousness, respect, and responsibility, so it works from the first day of the pandemic until the moment around the clock and follows every case in its condition, and we contact and communicate with them individually and collectively, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates follows up on the issue of the stranded personally, and sent to his counterparts in the neighboring countries written letters and communicates with them to obtain their approval to evacuate our nationals, as the State of Palestine does not have sovereignty over the airports of the neighboring countries, which made to resolve the issue of stranded depends primarily on the willingness and cooperation of these countries with us in addressing all outstanding cases. The Ministry confirms that it is working around the clock and it is making 100% of its energies in this field, and it hopes that all stranded and their families will be patient and 100% tolerant as well.
