The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemns the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Israeli settler militias against Palestinian civilians during the olive harvest season. These attacks, which include the theft, burning, and uprooting of olive trees, constitute systematic, state-sponsored terrorism. Such actions, designed to prevent farmers from accessing their lands, are a clear manifestation of Israel, the illegal occupying power, systematic policy to entrench its settler-colonial agenda and dismantle any prospects for Palestinian national independence. The deliberate targeting of Palestinian villages and towns, which constitute the majority of the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, serves to further deepen the illegal annexation of the occupied Palestinian territory and entrench apartheid policies, all under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. These heinous crimes undermine a critical agricultural season that sustains the fragile Palestinian economy and carries profound cultural and historical significance for the Palestinian people.
The Ministry reaffirms that these ongoing grave violations of International Law and International Humanitarian Law, are the direct result of decades-long impunity, and the failure of the international community to halt the genocidal war on Gaza and the forcible displacement of the Palestinian people across the occupied Palestinian territory. This international inaction has emboldened the occupation, and its terrorist settler militias to intensify their assaults throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory, only emboldens the occupation and its settlers to continue their terrorist acts, further eroding the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to return, freedom, and independence.
The Ministry continues to expose the violations and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and its terrorist settler militias, who act with complete impunity, before the international community. In light of the escalating terrorist attacks on the Palestinian people, particularly olive harvesters in the occupied West Bank, including east jerusalem. the Ministry urgently calls for the immediate activation of international protection mechanisms. It further demands the swift implementation of the UN General Assembly’s resolution endorsing the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, requiring the end of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territory within 12 months. Furthemore, the Ministry calls for the imposition of comprehensive and robust international sanctions on Israel, the illegal occupying power, aimed to the immediate cessation of its genocidal war and settler terrorist acts against the Palestinian people, in order to restore compliance with international law and the rules-based international order.
