Minister of Foreign Affairs Varsen Shahin met today with Thailand’s Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, in the presence of the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Thailand, Jihad Qudra, and senior officials.

Minister Shahin expressed appreciation for Thailand’s warm reception and conveyed the Palestinian leadership’s condolences on the passing of the Queen Mother. She emphasized the importance of the visit in mobilizing international support for the two-state solution and thanked Thailand for its positive vote in the UN in support of Palestine. She highlighted the urgent need for a full ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza, stressing that ongoing violations and settlement expansion undermine prospects for peace. She also discussed the situation of Palestinians residing in Thailand and the need to ensure dignified living conditions until a just political solution is achieved.

Minister Phuangketkeow reaffirmed Thailand’s deep concern over the situation in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, reiterating the call for a complete ceasefire and rejection of collective punishment. He announced Thailand’s financial contributions to the ICRC and UNRWA and reaffirmed Thailand’s longstanding support for the two-state solution.

Minister Shahin discussed expanding cooperation in health, agriculture, tourism, and job creation, with the Thai side pledging to follow up on issues related to the Palestinian community in Thailand.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing efforts toward a just peace.
