Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriate: demands the international criminal court for a rapid investigation on the continuing settlement crimes before it's too late
Settlements continue to be deepened in various areas of the West Bank, through continuous declarations of the construction of new neighborhood’s and settlement units, mainly concentrated in and around occupied East Jerusalem and extending to the Bethlehem area towards the west in order to accommodate as many young Jewish couples as possible in those Settlements to double the number of settlers to more than one million in the West Bank without occupied Jerusalem, as well as to link those outposts to the Israeli rear by building on the line, thereby undermining any opportunity for a viable Palestinian State with Sovereignty over the borders of the Fourth of June 1967. In this direction, the ratification of more than 770 new units in the settlement of Betar was carried to the west of Bethlehem, which is settled by the religious Jews "al-Hurdim" under the slogan (solving the problem of housing for ultra-Orthodox Jews), while the occupation authorities continue to steal Palestinian land and deprive citizens Palestinians from any construction or renovation of their homes in occupied Jerusalem, and to prevent them from their right to physical expansion to solve the problems of the natural increase of the population.
The ministry, condemning in the strongest terms the settlement in all its forms and considering it to be null and void on its basis, affirms that settler settlement at the expense of the territory of the State of Palestine tests the remaining credibility of the United Nations and its institutions and of international legality and its relevant resolutions, especially the inaction and inertia it shows in Implementation of resolution 2334. This expansionist colonial conquest coincided with public statements by Israeli officials and leaders gathering on the refusal to return to the 1967 borders and demanding the imposition of Israeli law on settlements in the occupied West Bank, the latest of which was Netanyahu's colonial statements in this regard. The Ministry continues its contacts and discussions with the international criminal on the settlement file as a crime in accordance with international law, and demands that it promptly open an official investigation of settlement crimes.
