Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Relations with Indian Ambassador

23/05/2024 - Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates , met today with the Indian Ambassador to the State of Palestine, Renu Yadav, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations. Shahin requested more scholarships for Palestinian students, particularly those from the Gaza Strip affected by Israeli bombardment. She urged India to reconsider arms sales to Israel due to their use against Palestinian civilians and emphasized the need for international pressure on Israel to stop the violence in Gaza. Shahin appreciated India's ongoing support and hoped for continued assistance, especially in Gaza's reconstruction.

Ambassador Yadav reaffirmed India's historic support for Palestine and the two-state solution, emphasizing the need for continued cooperation and congratulated Palestine on recent recognitions from three European countries.
