Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Calls on Germany to Recognize the State of Palestine

22/05/2024 - Dr.Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with the Head of the German Representative Office to Palestine, Ambassador Oliver Owcza. Shahin discussed the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to ongoing Israeli aggression and emphasized the need for Germany to play a political role in ending the genocide, protecting civilians, and ensuring humanitarian aid access. She also called for measures against settler violations in the West Bank and praised Germany's resumption of support for UNRWA and ongoing assistance through various projects. Shahin urged Germany to recognize the State of Palestine to help end the conflict and achieve peace.

Ambassador Owcza reaffirmed Germany's support for the two-state solution and commitment to aiding the Palestinian people through multiple projects and international efforts.
