Foreign Ministry says Gazan women and children bear unimageable suffer due to Israel's ongoing aggression on Gaza

RAMALLAH, November, 25, 2024  – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that women and children bear the brunt of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, as 155,000 pregnant or breastfeeding women in the Gaza Strip, 4,000 of whom are expected to give birth this month under tragic and inhumane conditions.

The Ministry added in a statement, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, that women in the Gaza Strip live under conditions in which no type of medical or living services are available, in violation of all international charters, agreements and resolutions, including Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Security and Peace".

It pointed out that more than 11,979 women and 17,492 children have been killed since the beginning of the aggression, which constitutes (70%) of the martyrs in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry indicated that there are 97 women languishing in the occupation prisons, facing an unknown fate so far, and are held in harsh and inhumane conditions, and are subjected to various forms of torture at the hands of the occupation forces.

It called on international committees to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the various forms of systematic violence against Palestinian women and  to hold the occupation accountable for its ongoing crimes and violations, and the terrorism of its colonists.

It also called on the international community to intervene and lift the siege on the Gaza Strip, which would allow the continued entry of food, water, fuel, medical and humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, including the special needs of women and girls.
