Ambassador Shamieh meets Philippine Minister of State for Islamic affairs

During his visit to the Republic of the Philippines, Ambassador Mazen, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates for Asia, Africa and the Pacific, met with Philippine State Secretary-Chairman of the National Committee for Islamic Affairs Sid menba ngarangano in the presence of several officials of the authority.

Shamieh discussed the political situation in Palestine, and the Judaize of Jerusalem, and the need to mobilize support to protect it from Israeli and American plans as a Palestinian Arab and Islamic land.

Ambassador Shamieh also referred to his meetings with the Philippine Foreign Minister and senior State officials and the parties ' vision of the prospects for bilateral cooperation, the importance of working in the fields of religious tourism, and the need for Filipino Muslims and Christians to visit the Holy Land in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

For his part, the Philippine Minister referred to the Philippine stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the Philippine Muslim stance, especially in rejecting all Israeli measures, and the US resolutions that are contrary to international law, especially regarding the city of Jerusalem, as occupied Palestinian territories.

The two sides also agreed on the need to communicate and exchange visits, including religious leaders, to support interfaith dialogue in the context of spreading a culture of tolerance and peace, and rejecting terrorism and extremism.

The meeting concluded with a joint visit to the Golden Mosque of Manila. The Ambassador of Palestine to Malaysia, and Youad Jaradat a third secretary in the Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates.
