Prime Minister Mustafa discusses efforts to end Israeli aggression and advance Gaza reconstruction with Egyptian counterpart

CAIRO, March 23, 2025  – Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met on Sunday in Cairo with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, to discuss ongoing efforts to halt the Israeli occupation aggression against the Palestinian people and advance Gaza’s reconstruction. The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister Dr. Omar Awadallah and Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Diab Al-Louh.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa stressed the urgent need to compel Israel to implement a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as a fundamental step toward facilitating and enhancing early recovery and reconstruction efforts.

The two officials also discussed joint efforts in coordination with Arab and Islamic countries, as well as key international actors, as part of preparations for convening the Gaza Reconstruction Conference.

For his part, Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the necessity of consolidating the ceasefire as an essential condition to ending Palestinian bloodshed and paving the way for reconstruction, while ensuring that Palestinians in Gaza remain on their land.

Madbouly also pointed out that Egypt’s Gaza Reconstruction Plan, developed in coordination with the Palestinian leadership and endorsed by the recent Arab Emergency Summit in Cairo, will involve close collaboration with regional and international partners to ensure its effective and comprehensive implementation.
