Minister Malki expresses his satisfaction with the outcome of the 46th session of the OIC Foreign Ministers ' Council, especially with regard to the resolutions on the Palestinian issue.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Riad Malki, today  participated in the work of the 46th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which took place in Abu Dhabi on 1-2 March 2019, where a series of resolutions of interest to Member States were adopted, foremost among them the resolutions on the question of Palestine Al-Quds Al-Sharif and the mechanisms of financial support for the Palestinian people,

The resolution called on the Islamic Group in New York and Geneva to support the resolutions on Palestine, including the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif. He also called on the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities under the UN Charter and take action to stop All the violations committed by Israel, the occupying Power, particularly with regard to the settlement colonization of the Palestinian territory, in particular the occupied city of Jerusalem, and the speedy implementation of resolution 2334 of 2016, and called upon the international community as a whole to compel Israel, the occupying Power, To rescind its illegal decision to annex East Jerusalem, and recalls the Islamic position that all possibilities should be mobilized to confront this decision and to apply the political and economic boycott to the States or international institutions that recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the occupying power or transfer its embassies to the country.

A decision to establish a Development endowment fund to support Palestine Refugees was also adopted to provide sustainable financial support to UNRWA for the relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees.

the resolution also stressed Israel's incapacity to take up positions in the United Nations and other international organizations, as it is an occupying power that violates international law, international humanitarian law and resolutions of international legitimacy, and the need to resolve the Palestinian refugee issue in a just and comprehensive way and to guarantee the right of return in accordance with Of the resolutions of international legitimacy, in particular United Nations General Assembly resolution No. 194 of 1948.

He also stressed the unity of Palestinian decision and representation under the framework of the PLO, the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, the need to respect the legitimate institutions of the State of Palestine, and its rejection of all illegal measures taken by Israel that would change the authenticity of Islamic sites Or threatening the integrity of Christianity, under the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of 1972 and the need to implement relevant United Nations resolutions and to follow up on the verification of Israeli credentials to the United Nations and other international organizations so as not to include the Palestinian Territory that Occupied by Israel since 1967, including East Jerusalem.

In its resolutions, OIC condemned the piracy by the Israeli occupation authorities of the tax money of the Palestinian people and considered it to be a blatant aggression against its capabilities, through which it sought to blackmail the Palestinian people and continue the policy of collective punishment against the Families of prisoners and martyrs.

The resolution denounced the Foreign Ministry's announcement of its intention to open a commercial office in the city of Jerusalem as a violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, which affirms that there is no legitimacy to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the city of Jerusalem and calls on it to retreat from such a position.

It also condemned the refusal of the Israeli occupation authorities to renew the temporary International presence in Hebron (TIPH) as a flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolution 904.

He also condemned the racist laws, punitive measures, including economic obstacles, and all the repeated Israeli atrocities and atrocities, especially in the city of Jerusalem, which was those songs by the Israeli decision to close the door of mercy of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and what the settlers are doing The extremists against our defenseless people from attacks, persecution and racist rhetoric on their property, as well as the intensive and ongoing colonial activities in all their manifestations on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, especially the city of Jerusalem.

The resolution condemned the Trump administration's total bias against Israel's colonial and racist policies and practices, which was translated into the illegal recognition of West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the relocation of the embassy, as well as its rejection of Guatemala's decision to recognize and transfer the embassy to the city of Jerusalem, and to reject the decision Australia to recognize West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, calling on those states to undo these illegal steps in violation of international resolutions and laws, praising Paraguay for undoing its decision on Jerusalem.

On the other hand, the resolution on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif called on international actors to join in sponsoring a multilateral political process aimed at launching a credible peace operation to achieve a two-state solution and the Arab Peace initiative of 2002, and to recognize the state of Palestine by Those States that have not yet recognized the state of Palestine.

Minister Malki expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the Conference, particularly with regard to the resolutions that covered all aspects of the Palestinian issue. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates of the state of Palestine will work through its representations to the organization in following up the implementation of those resolutions.
