Minister Dr. Malki welcomes the adoption of Palestine Resolution in the World Health Organization

Dr. Riad Malki, Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates of the State of Palestine, welcomed the outcome of the World Health Assembly's vote at its 72nd session, currently in Geneva, and its adoption of the resolution on Palestine, entitled: Health conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights The occupied Syrian Arab territories, where the majority of Member States voted in favor of the resolution, and its amendments that clearly spoke of the violations by Israel, the occupying Power, of the health rights of the Palestinian people, as well as the prevention of the introduction of vaccinations in the Occupied Palestinian territory in the past period, Malki:  stressed that those 11 countries that voted against the resolution were in fact voting for their bias towards occupation and injustice, an expression of their isolation from the international group committed to the principles and norms of international law, and a departure from morality and international consensus.

Malki referred to the efforts of Palestinian diplomacy and foreign relations, in particular the mission of the State of Palestine at the United Nations in Geneva, and our missions in the world, to work with States in discussing and negotiating the draft resolution to reach a consensus, and to implement the outcome of this resolution, particularly with regard to the submission of the report The Director-General of the Organization to the next session of the World Health Assembly, and to provide support to Palestinian health institutions, especially under the report of the International Commission of Inquiry on the march of return, and his recommendations on Israel's violations of the right to health of our people.

In this regard, the foreign Minister expressed his gratitude and deep thanks to all the states that voted in favour of the resolution and called on those states that had not supported the resolution to review their policies, positions and return to their senses and political maturity, because the state of Palestine would remain fiercely defending its interests and the interests of the existing Palestinian people To rights and constants consistent with the rules of international law, and will face any attempts to undermine these rights in all international institutions and organizations, and demands that the international community shoulder its responsibilities and exert pressure on Israel, the occupying Power, to reverse its policies and practices that violate In a systematic and broad manner the rights of the Palestinian people, ending their long-standing occupation and embodying the national independence of the State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
