The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Participates in the Palestinian Traditions Conference in Latin America

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, represented by the Assistant Minister for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, Counselor Hanan Jarrar and the desk officer of the South America, Second Secretary Suad Soboh, participated in the activities of the Palestinian Traditions Conference held at the headquarters of the Palestinian Arab Club in the Peruvian capital Lima.

The conference is organized by the Palestinian communities living in Latin America to preserve the Palestinian identity and heritage, belonging to the homeland, and the adherence to the Palestinian customs and traditions. During the opening of the conference, Counselor Jarrar delivered a speech, conveying the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Riad Malki, and the Palestinian people living on the land of Palestine to the people of Latin America, stressing that they are an integral part of the Palestinian nation. “Our people are united wherever they are, whatever their ideological affiliations, because what brings us together is stronger than what divides us and the presence of our community from different Latin countries under one roof in this Palestinian house is the proof of this.” She added.

Counselor Jarrar also confirmed that the Palestinian leadership believes in the ability of our communities in the Latin continent to become the center of action, which performs its national role with excellence, honesty and morality, contributing to the reconstruction and development of Palestine socially, scientifically and politically.

Counselor Jarrar concluded by pointing out that the Palestinian state is an inescapable reality, and that the occupation is inevitable. “Victory is unescapable and recognized by the history of mankind, and Palestine will not be an exception with the assertion that we are united wherever we are, no matter how far the geographical distance is because our belonging is one and because Palestine is bigger than all of us.” Jarrar said.

On the other hand, alongside the conference, meetings were held within various members of the community who came from Latin countries, especially from South American countries, and the heads of the Palestinian clubs residing in these countries, which is in the interest of Palestine and its status among other countries. It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian community in the Latin continent has a population of approximately 750 thousand Palestinians, having Palestine in their hearts, and an abounding potential, as amongst them are ministers and members of parliament, influential and wealthy businessmen, in addition to people in the fields of industry and agriculture.
