The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemns Israel's placing of Jerusalem's Palestinian governor under house arrest

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the Israeli occupation authorities’ insidious targeting of the Governor of Jerusalem, Mr. Adnan Ghaith. The Ministry considers the house arrest of the Governor, his repeated detention, and high fines part of the crime against humanity of persecution against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the severe discrimination against them that aims denying them their fundamental rights, including to political representation and self-determination.

The Ministry calls on the international community, including the United Nations, to demand that the Israeli colonial occupation authorities stop this persecution of Mr. Ghaith immediately and to rescind the unlawful measures against him and other Palestinian officials.
