Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates: The Massacre in Mawasi Khan Younis Reflects International Failure to Halt Genocide and Displacement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemns the heinous massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces in Mawasi Khan Younis, which has resulted in the martyrdom of over 40 civilians, more than 60 wounded, and several others reported missing. This brutal attack represents an escalation in the ongoing war of genocide and forced displacement, part of a continuous series of massacres carried out under official Israeli policy aimed at transforming the Gaza Strip into an uninhabitable wasteland.

The Ministry views the international community's failure to enforce international law and the rulings of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and to compel the occupying state to cease its aggression against the Palestinian people, as a direct encouragement for Israel to continue committing further atrocities. The Ministry stresses that an immediate ceasefire is the only viable path to protecting Palestinian civilians and creating the necessary conditions for a prisoner exchange agreement.

The Ministry also asserts that Israel’s ongoing impunity and the international protection afforded to it only grant Israel and its leaders more time to carry out egregious acts of killing, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement against Palestinian civilians.
