The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and expatriates for Asia, Africa and Australia, Ambassador Mazen Shamieh, began his meetings with the Secretary-General of the organization Dr. Habib Allah Mirsodoza, and the assistance for political affairs, as he met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan and the Director of the Middle East Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tajik.

Ambassador Shamieh extended congratulations on behalf of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Tajikistan on their assumption of the presidency after the People's Republic of China and wished them success in their tasks and the readiness of the State of Palestine to stand by them in working for the purposes of the Organization in making peace and stability in the continent of Asia and the success of their mission In the leadership of the CICA organization.

Earlier, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of several delegations to coordinate positions to ensure that the Palestinian issue was on the agenda of the organization, including Russia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Pakistan and others.

Palestine, as a founding member of the organization, with a delegation headed by Ambassador Shamieh, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Mohamed Asmouli, and the director of the Central Asia and Azerbaijan Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The meeting will discuss the CICA programme for the year 2019 in the areas of the guide to confidence building in Asia. Handbook for the Cika staff and Tajikistan agenda during their chairmanship of the Organization.  He will also discuss the dates of the Business Council meeting CICA Member States and the Fourth Forum of the CICA Youth Council, where Palestine submitted a proposal to host the next forum of the CICA Youth Council in Palestine in September next month.

The meeting will discuss the Dushanbe Summit declaration to be held in June next month.  Palestine participates with 26 Asian countries as active Member States, as well as several observer States and regional and international organizations, notably the United Nations, the Shanghai Organization, the European Union and others.

The ambassador Shamieh stressed  that the declaration should include the current situation in the Middle East, the attack on the Palestinian issue and the American and Israeli aggression in an attempt to liquidate it and the need to focus on just solutions to the Palestinian issue as the key to peace and stability in the Middle East and the world. This organization cannot discuss security without giving prominence to the Palestinian cause and its people.

Ambassador Shamieh emphasized the desire of Palestine  to work actively with Member States for the benefit of our people, the peoples of the region, the Asian people and the world in all areas that serve peace and security in Asia, as well as the desire of Palestine to host the fourth forum of the Cika Youth Council.
