Ministry of Foreign Affairs Welcomes Move to Ban Israeli Settlement Products
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the joint declaration by Canada, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden on imposing and supporting restrictions on trade in goods from illegal Israeli settlements.
The Ministry commends the United Kingdom, France and Canada for moving toward banning settlement products and urges all states to take similar action without delay. It also welcomes the rejection of the E1 settlement plans, stressing that settlement expansion and settler terrorism directly undermine the two-state solution.
The Ministry calls for urgent, concrete measures to halt Israel’s illegal settlement enterprise, hold perpetrators accountable, and end impunity, stressing that banning settlement products must be only the first step toward broader action to dismantle the settlement system and end the occupation.
