Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The Occupation’s Destruction of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital Is One of the Ugliest Forms of Genocide and Forced Displacement amid Suspicious International Inaction

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirms that the brutal bombing of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City by the Israeli occupying forces, which led to its complete distruction and forced it out of service, alongside the forced evacuation of patients and the wounded, leaving them on the streets, could not have occurred without the complicity and alarming inaction of the international community. This comes after the occupation had deliberately destroyed 34 hospitals in the Gaza Strip and rendered them non-operational, in parallel with the ongoing policy of starvation, thirst, and the denial of access to medicine.

The Ministry considers the targeting of hospitals, healthcare centers, and medical personnel to be among the most horrific manifestations of genocide and a blatant disregard for international humanitarian principles and laws. These actions are part of a systematic Israeli policy aimed at the complete destruction of all aspects of life in Gaza, turning it into an uninhabitable area in an attempt to forcibly displace the population through military force.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the United Nations Security Council bears full responsibility for its failure to protect civilians, enforce an immediate halt to the genocide, open the crossings, ensure the sustainable entry of humanitarian aid, and initiate the implementation of all forms of relief and reconstruction.
