Foreign Affairs and Expatriates// In response to Netanyahu: The Occupation Destroys the Palestinian Economy and Prevents its Prosperity

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the Palestinian leadership of “holding the Palestinian people’s prosperity as a hostage”, in an attempt to conceal the systematic occupation policy that aims at destroying the foundations of the Palestinian economy. Moreover, PM Netanyahu is blatantly disregarding the continuous systemic destruction of the Palestinian economy, as evident in agricultural areas and through the expansion of colonization in the designated areas (c), in addition to the ongoing colonial invasions of the Jordan Valley, the control over the crossings and over the movement into and out of the occupied Palestinian territory, and the current unjust siege on Gaza Strip. .

The Palestinian side has submitted several projects to Israelis via the US side to develop the shores of the Dead Sea, but these has been rejected in addition to the incessant Israeli refusal to build an airport in the Jordan Valley, moreover, the Israelis restrict the tourism sector in an attempt to terminate the religious vibrant tourism in the area.

The ministry condemns, in the strongest terms, the misleading incitement campaign led by Netanyahu, who aims at hiding the truth through false claims to hold the Palestinian side responsible. This responsibility is borne by successive Israeli governments as evident in international testimonies, most notably World Bank reports which cannot be concealed by nor the statements of the suspicious Trump team neither by Netanyahu's statements. The Ministry reaffirms that peace and economic prosperity can only be achieved by ending the occupation and the exclusion of its obstacles to the prosperity of the Palestinian economy.
