The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Calls for Effective International Action to Stop Settler Crimes and Attacks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the almost daily attacks by armed settler groups on Palestinians in Massafer Yatta, carried out under the protection and supervision of the Israeli occupation forces.

As witnessed today, Friday, settlers brutally assaulted several Palestinian shepherds in an attempt to expel them and forcibly depopulate the entire area of its Palestinian residents. This represents one of the most egregious forms of ethnic cleansing targeting Palestinians across Area C, which constitutes the majority of the West Bank. The ultimate objective is to annex this land as a strategic reserve for colonial settlement expansion, deliberately destroying any prospects for the realization of a Palestinian state.

The Ministry views the ongoing brutality against our people in Gaza, Massafer Yatta, the northern West Bank, and the Jordan Valley as an escalated colonial campaign of racial persecution, genocide, forced displacement, and annexation. These systematic policies, enforced by the Israeli government, seek to erase the Palestinian cause and sabotage any chance for peace, in blatant violation of international law, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the two-state solution.

The Ministry stresses that the Israeli government’s defiance of the international community and its blatant disregard for international law have exceeded all expectations, posing a serious threat to the very foundations of the international system. As the Ministry continues to monitor and document the occupation’s crimes and violations in coordination with international organizations, and legal bodies, it calls on the UN Security Council to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities. Immediate measures must be taken to compel the Israeli government to halt its atrocities, comply with UN resolutions, and adhere to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.
