Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Settler Militia Crimes in Sinjel Require Urgent International Action to Hold Perpetrators Accountable

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates calls on the international community to end its double standards in addressing the suffering and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. It urges immediate and effective measures to uphold international law and implement relevant UN resolutions, and to put an end to the crimes committed by terrorist settler militias against our people.

This appeal comes in the wake of the settlers’ horrific attack carried out on Friday in the town of Sinjel, north of Ramallah, which resulted in the killing of two young men from the nearby town of Al-Mazra’a Al-Sharqiyeh, Mohammad Shalabi, 23 years old, who was shot with live ammunition and left to bleed for hours, and Saif Al-Din Musallat, 23, a U.S. citizen, who was brutally beaten to death. The attack also included the burning of Palestinian homes and the injury of dozens of residents by settler gunfire during the terrorist assault on Sinjel.

The Ministry affirms that these settler crimes constitute organized state terrorism, reflecting an official Israeli policy that is openly hostile to peace. This policy aims to expand colonial settlement projects by enabling and supporting terrorist settler elements in carrying out further attacks against the Palestinian people. In light of this, the Ministry stresses the urgent need to hold these terrorist settler organizations legally accountable, to pursue them through international legal mechanisms, and to impose immediate sanctions on the entities that provide them with political, security, and financial protection.
