Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates: Evacuation of Northern Gaza Consolidates Occupation and Displaces Its Residents

Israel’s Actions to Annex the West Bank and Overthrow the Palestinian Authority are a Deliberate Escalation of Regional Instability

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warns of the dangers posed by Israel’s actions to evacuate Palestinians from northern Gaza, viewing it as a prelude to the annexation of Gaza and significant parts of the territory for settlement purposes. This plan poses a serious threat of displacing Palestinian citizens, confining them to a small area. The brutal bombardment of civilians clearly serves this colonial and expansionist objective, as does the attempt to divide Gaza into three isolated parts. At the same time, the ruling Israeli right-wing is mobilizing all its resources to escalate tensions in the occupied West Bank, with the aim of facilitating its annexation and overthrowing the Palestinian National Authority. This agenda is openly promoted by Smotrich and Ben Gvir under the slogan of preventing the realization of a Palestinian state.

The ministry believes that the international community's failure to stop these acts of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement grants Israel’s extremist government the necessary time to implement its colonial plans in both Gaza and the West Bank, further encouraging Israel to dismantle the foundations of the Palestinian state.

The ministry stresses that the implementation of the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), through the adoption of actionable mechanisms by the UN General Assembly, is of critical importance in deterring and ending the occupation once and for all. Furthermore, the ministry calls for the imposition of effective international sanctions on Israel, seeing this as the correct path to forcing it to halt its aggression and respect international legitimacy and the rulings of the ICJ.
