Minister Shahin discusses with the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta the prospects for joint cooperation

6/6/2024 - Minister Shahin met with the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to discuss prospects for mutual cooperation. The meeting highlighted the importance of enhancing ties between their respective entities, with appreciation expressed for the humanitarian efforts of Malta in supporting Palestinians, particularly through recent relief and medical aid initiatives in Gaza. Minister Shahin briefed Ambassador Michelle on the dire conditions faced by Palestinians in Gaza due to ongoing conflict and emphasized the critical need to halt the genocidal warfare and ensure humanitarian access. Additionally, she underscored the urgency of addressing settler violations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the release of unlawfully withheld Palestinian tax revenues by Israel. The discussion also emphasized the necessity of finding a political horizon that leads to ending occupation and realizing Palestinian statehood.

Ambassador Michelle reaffirmed the Sovereign Order of Malta's solidarity with the Palestinian people, pledging continued humanitarian support and constructive projects aimed at serving humanity within Palestine.
