Minister of Foreign Affairs Opens Munich Security Conference with Key Meetings with Portuguese and Canadian Counterparts

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Shahin, began her participation in the Munich Security Conference with a series of intensive meetings. She held separate bilateral discussions with Portuguese Foreign Minister  Paulo Rangel and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to Germany, Laith Arafeh.

At the start of the meetings, Minister Shahin expressed Palestine’s gratitude for the two countries’ supportive positions toward the Palestinian people, including their recognition of the State of Palestine. She emphasized that this recognition is crucial for upholding international law, supporting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, and advancing the realization of the Palestinian state.

Minister Shahin briefed both ministers on the current situation on Palestinian lands and discussed joint coordination to address the serious escalation facing Palestine. The discussions also focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors.
