Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Ghanaian Counterpart to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shahin, met today with Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Ablakwa, in the presence of Palestine’s Ambassador to Ghana, Abdel Fattah Al-Satri.

During the meeting, Minister Shahin expressed gratitude for Ghana’s stance on the ongoing atrocities in Gaza, commending President Nana Akufo-Addo’s support for Palestine in international forums, particularly at the United Nations. She also acknowledged Ghana’s humanitarian aid provided to children in Gaza.

Minister Shahin emphasized that Palestine’s priority remains realizing an independent state, ensuring the right of Palestinians to self-determination, facilitating sufficient humanitarian aid into Gaza, and upholding international law and the New York Declaration, with the two-State solution as the only viable path forward.

The Minister also expressed Palestine’s desire to explore new avenues of cooperation with Ghana and to hold future political consultations.

Minister Ablakwa reiterated Ghana’s support for Palestine, underlined the importance of international solidarity to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza, and expressed his country’s interest in deepening bilateral relations and signing future cooperation agreements across multiple sectors.
