Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shahin arrived in the Ghanaian capital, Accra,

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shahin arrived in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, on Saturday, where she was received by a number of Arab ambassadors accredited to Ghana, along with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Ghana, Abdel Fattah Al-Sattari.

Later that day, Minister Shahin held a briefing session for the Council of Arab Ambassadors, during which she outlined the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip and the urgent international support required. She also addressed Israel’s policies in the West Bank, including apartheid practices, settlement expansion, land annexation, and efforts to alter the demographic reality and erase Palestinian identity.

The Minister highlighted Israel’s policy of forced displacement, noting that around 50,000 Palestinians have been displaced from refugee camps in the northern West Bank, particularly in Jenin and Tulkarem, as part of a systematic plan to empty the land of its people.

Minister Shahin stressed the need for serious international pressure to hold Israel accountable for its violations of international law, emphasizing that the top priorities are sustaining the ceasefire, strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, and intensifying Arab and international efforts to ensure the implementation of UN resolutions and international law, in line with the New York Declaration.
