Ambassador Shamieh meets First Deputy foreign Minister of Tajikistan

Dushanbe – Tajikistan: Ambassador Dr. Mazen Shamieh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates for Asia, Africa and Australia, met with the first Deputy foreign Minister of Tajikistan, the religious system of Zahid.

Ambassador Zhiri briefed Shamieh on the development of the situation in the region under U.S. policies aimed at settling the Palestinian issue and the leadership and the Palestinian people's response to these plans, stressing the Palestinian side's insistence on rejecting all solutions that detract from the legitimate and national rights of the people. Palestinian freedom, the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the resolutions of international legality and the borders of 4 June of 1967, and the resolution of the refugee issue in accordance with resolution 194.

Ambassador Shamieh also congratulated Tajikistan on its assumption of the chairmanship of the Asia cooperation and confidence-building organization in Asia (Cika), stressing Palestine's readiness to work with Tajikistan and Member States to achieve the Organization's lofty goals of consolidating the concepts of security and peace and stability in Asia.

At the same time, it is important that this organization, under the presidency of Tajikistan, take a pivotal role in supporting peace efforts and at ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian and Arab territories. Stability and peace in Asia cannot be perpetuated in the shadow of the last settlement occupation in the world.

Ambassador Shmaieh also discussed bilateral relations between Palestine and Tajikistan, and reviewed bilateral cooperation programmes and arrangements for the holding of the Palestinian-Tajik Joint Commission and the review of all draft conventions and memorandums of understanding, where eleven bilateral agreements are being signed between the two sides Includes all domains.

For his part, the first Deputy foreign Minister of Tajikistan stressed to the Ambassador Shamieh the stability of the Tajik position in support of the Palestinian cause, and the importance of resolving them in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the two-state solution. Tajikistan is also keen to coordinate and work jointly between the two sides of the Cika organization and all regional and international organizations.

The two sides also agreed to promote mutual visits at all levels and in a way that will ensure that the relations between the two sides are stimulated and developed.

The meeting brought together the director of the Middle East Department at the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan, the Director of the Palestine Dossier, and the Palestinian side also participated Ambassador of Palestine to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Dr. Mohamed Moukadani and Mina Hamdan, director of the Department of Central Asia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates to the state of Palestine.
