Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns Terrorist Settler Arson Attack in Deir Dibwan and Calls for Recognition of Organized Settler Terrorism

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the terrorist attack and acts of arson carried out by extremist Israeli settler groups in the town of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah. The attack resulted in the burning of Palestinian-owned vehicles and agricultural lands and forms part of Israel’s systematic policy of organized settler violence and terror aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians and undermining their steadfastness on their land.

The Ministry stresses that the continued impunity enjoyed by settlers only emboldens further crimes and violations against Palestinian civilians and their property, underscoring the urgent need to intensify legal, economic, and political pressure on the occupying power.

The Ministry calls on the international community, the United Nations, the Security Council, and all states to take immediate and concrete measures to hold Israel accountable, end the terror perpetrated by the occupation and its settlers, and recognize settler violence as organized terrorism. It also renews its call for international protection for the Palestinian people and for stronger sanctions commensurate with states’ legal and moral responsibilities under international law, particularly in light of arson attacks that evoke some of the darkest crimes of the last century, atrocities the world pledged would never be repeated.
