The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the joint statement issued by the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand, rejecting the Israeli decision to occupy the Gaza

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the joint statement issued by the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand, rejecting the Israeli decision to occupy the Gaza Strip and the occupation’s measures to annex the West Bank. The statement also renewed the call to end the crimes of genocide, starvation, and forced displacement, as well as the resulting ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip. It further stressed the importance of enabling the Palestinian Authority to exercise its political and legal authority over the Gaza Strip as an inseparable part of the territory of the State of Palestine.

The Ministry reiterates its call on all states and components of the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to take the necessary measures to compel the Israeli government to halt the implementation of its decision, immediately end the crimes of genocide, displacement, and annexation, and put an end to starvation engulfing the lives of citizens in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry also urges those states that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take this step without delay, as a means of safeguarding the two-state solution and preserving the prospects for peace.
