The Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit holds official discussions with the Canadian Foreign Minister

Saturday, December 9, 2023, the Members of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit under the chairmanship of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held official discussions with Her Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Ms. Mélanie Joly, in Ottawa, with the participation of His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine Riyad Al-Maliki, and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan.

During the discussion session, they discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and their repercussions and the military escalation towards unarmed civilians, as members of the Ministerial Committee reiterated the importance of an immediate and urgent ceasefire, to ensure the return of security and stability to the Strip.

The members of the Ministerial Committee called on the international community to move fast and assume its responsibility to protect innocent civilians from the killing machine practiced by the Israeli occupation forces, noting that talking about the future of Gaza and the Palestinian issue must come after an immediate ceasefire and a calming of the unjustified military escalation.

The members of the committee stressed the importance of taking serious and urgent steps to ensure the securing of relief corridors to deliver urgent humanitarian, food, and medical aid to the Gaza Strip, expressing their rejection of restricting the entry of humanitarian aid immediately and safely.

The members of the committee reiterated the need for creating serious political conditions that lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state along the lines of June 4, 1967, in accordance with the relevant international resolutions, expressing their rejection of compartmentalizing the Palestinian issue and discussing the future of the Gaza Strip separately from the overall Palestinian issue.
