Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Gaza Children and Palestinian Community in Lisbon
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shahin, met during her official visit to Portugal with Dima and Malak, two Palestinian girls from Gaza currently receiving medical treatment in Portugal.
The Minister listened to the girls’ experiences and the hardships they endured during the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and expressed her wishes for their full recovery. She reaffirmed that every child in Gaza has the right to safety, medical care, and the opportunity to reclaim their childhood and live a normal life.
Minister Shahin also met with members of the Palestinian community in Portugal at the home of Palestinian citizen Tawfiq Makki, known as Abu Al-Salem,and his family. She expressed her pride in the community’s role in preserving Palestinian identity, supporting our people, and carrying Palestine’s voice abroad.
She thanked the Makki family for their warm hospitality and for bringing together the children and members of the Palestinian community, reflecting the solidarity and warmth of the Palestinian family at home and in the diaspora.
