Minister Malki meets his Maldivian counterpart
Foreign Minister Riad Malki met on the sidelines of the 46th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in Abu Dhabi city, with his Maldivian counterpart Abdulla Shahid.
Minister Malki reviewed the political developments in Palestine and the continued Israeli occupation of its violations against unarmed citizens in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the city of Jerusalem in particular.
The parties discussed the current situation of instability and violence in the Republic of Maldives, particularly with regard to the issues of extremism, which threaten the lives of citizens, where Riad Malki expressed the solidarity of the State of Palestine and its willingness to provide expertise in various fields, especially with regard to health and education.
The two sides also discussed the state of the conflict between India and Pakistan, expressed concern over the confrontation between India and Pakistan, and stressed that the solution to these conflicts is through a quiet dialogue, and expressed willingness to play a role in bringing about a lull between the two sides.
For his part, the Maldivian foreign minister stressed his country's stand in support of the Palestinian cause and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian People, and its readiness to provide assistance and strengthen relations and cooperation in various fields.
