Malki: "our accession to international treaties and conventions is a clear and strong demonstration of the responsibility of the State of Palestine and its competent institutions"

Minister Riad Malki stressed that the accession of the State of Palestine to international treaties and conventions is a clear and strong proof of what we are capable of at the state of Palestine and its competent institutions in the implementation of these conventions, stating  that "our chairmanship of the Organization of 77 and China represents a challenge and a great responsibility  that we are ready to take responsibility for ". This came during a meeting with the head of Norway's representative office for the State of Palestine, Ms. Hilde Haraldstad in the presence of Ambassador Amal Jadu, Assistant Secretary for European affairs and advisor Ihab al-Tary director of the Western Europe administration.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Malki welcomed Ambassador Haraldstad, and reviewing the latest political developments on the ground,  which was the decision of the Israeli head of government Benjamin Netanyahu not to renew the international Presence Mission "TIPH" in Hebron, considering that it poses an imminent danger to its residents, especially the children in the city ,  calling on the international community to compel Israel to abide by the agreement on the presence of the international temporary mission in the city of Hebron, while appreciating the Norwegian Foreign Ministry's statement that this unilateral Israeli decision constitutes a violation of the Oslo Accords.

Minister Malki briefed Haraldstad on the overall political data linking the Palestinians with the US administration headed by President Trump, arguing that its actions and decisions show a clear and visible bias to the occupation and its settlers, and that Netanyahu has become a beneficiary and the security of these actions. Starting with the transfer of the American Embassy to Jerusalem and recognition of it as the capital of Israel, through the continuation of the colonial settlement construction, in defiance of all international charters and conventions and resolutions of the United States, considering that the talk about a US peace plan is just a mirage without foundation in existence, as Malki informed Ms. Haraldstad of PICA role of (Palestinian Agency for International cooperation ) and its achievements in the whole world despite the occupation, hoping to achieve cooperation linking the Palestinian Agency for International cooperation "PICA’’ with its counterpart, the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation "NORAD" in all fields.

Ms. Haraldstad stressed her country's position to revive the peace process between the Palestinian and Israeli sides and the need to respect international resolutions, to find a solution to the conflict, and reiterated its support for any future steps in this regard.
