On Saturday, 23 March 2019, the Jenin Court’s judge and his cousin, who is an officer at the Preventive Security Service (PSS), were wounded after being shot by a person on grounds of a family dispute in ‘Arraq al-Tayeh area, east of Nablus. This incident is part of the state of proliferation of weapons and assault on the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).

According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 11:10 on Saturday, 23 March 2019, Montaser ‘Adnan Rawajbah (35), Jenin Court’s judge, was hit with a live bullet to his left leg while his cousin Mohamed Najeh Rawajbah (23), a PSS officer, was hit with a live bullet to the left leg and shrapnel to the chest after opening fire at both of them during a family dispute in ‘Arraq al-Tayeh area, east of Nablus. The wounded civilians were then taken to Rafidia Hospital, where their injuries were reported moderate.

PCHR is deeply concerned over the increasing number of shooting incidents and assault on the rule of law. PCHR calls also upon the competent authorities to take the necessary measures to stop this phenomenon and maintain the civilians’ security and safety.
