Statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates- - State of Palestine

Today, the ICJ concluded the historic oral proceedings on the General Assembly request for an advisory opinion on the legal consequences arising from the policies and practices of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem. 

Unprecedented number of States and international organizations, informed by their history,  joined the State of Palestine and rejected colonialism, aggression, occupation, domination and oppression and in support of the UN Charter, its purposes and principles, including the right to self-determination and the prohibition of acquisition of territory by force. 

States and international organizations stood shoulder to shoulder,  assessed  the law and the facts and rejected Israel’s 75 years violations of the UN Charter and international law, specifically its illegal occupation, which must come immediate, total, and unconditional end. 

The State of Palestine will continue to cooperate with the ICJ and expresses its fullest confidence that it will discharge the sacred duties entrusted to it with the wisdom, fairness and justice that the world and millions of people expect and need.
