Minister Shahin Receives Phone Call from Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shahin received a phone call today from Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence, Helen McEntee.

During the call, Minister Shahin briefed her Irish counterpart on the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip and the dangerous escalation in the West Bank, particularly in light of the increasing attacks by settler militias. The two ministers also discussed regional developments and stressed the importance of upholding the principles of international law.

Minister Shahin expressed her appreciation to Ireland for its continued support for the Palestinian cause and for its assistance to UNRWA. For her part, Minister McEntee conveyed Ireland’s concern over the situation and reaffirmed her country’s continued attention to developments in the West Bank and Gaza, as well as its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at advancing peace.
