Khan al-Ahmar Factsheet

Khan Al-Ahmar is one of 46 communities at risk of forcible transfer by Israeli occupation authorities. Those communities are located in the West Bank, near the Jerusalem-Jericho road,  east of the "industrial zone" of the so-called "Ma’ale Adumim" settlement and the Israeli bypass road known as "Route 437".  These Palestinian communities are originally from the Jahalin Bedouin tribe, who were forcibly  expelled in the 1950s from Tel Arad (Arabic name) in the Negev desert by the Israeli occupation  forces, as part of the ethnic cleansing process of the Palestinians.    Khan Al Ahmar - Abu Al Helu is currently home to 181 Palestinians, 53% of whom are children  and 95% of whom are Palestinian refugees registered with UNRWA.
