Foreign Minister Shahin Meets Nablus Governor, Reaffirms International Diplomatic Efforts Against Settler Crimes

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shahin met with Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas and local representatives to discuss the security situation in the governorate amid escalating settler crimes and Israeli military operations.

Shahin stressed the importance of a unified national message in international forums to strengthen political and legal efforts aimed at holding Israel accountable under international law. She praised the resilience of the people of Nablus, emphasizing that supporting Palestinians’ steadfastness on their land remains a national priority.

She also highlighted the Foreign Ministry’s efforts to expand international partnerships with friendly countries, cities, and institutions to support local development, investment, youth and women’s empowerment, and cultural and academic cooperation.

The minister reaffirmed ongoing diplomatic efforts to mobilize international opposition to Israeli settlements, expose settler crimes, and promote the implementation of international law, reiterating that settlements are illegal under international law.

Governor Ghassan Daghlas described the continuing attacks by settlers and frequent Israeli military incursions in Nablus, calling for stronger international action to end settlement expansion. Both sides concluded by emphasizing the need for continued coordination among Palestinian institutions and sustained diplomatic efforts to keep the Palestinian issue high on the international agenda.
