Cooperation agreement between the state of Palestine and the Plurinational State of Bolivia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, H.E. Dr. Riad Al-Malki, signed with his Bolivian counterpart H.E. Mr. Diego Barri Rodriguez a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine represented by the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Development Planning of the Plurinational State of Bolivia. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.

In their meeting, the two ministers stressed the strong historical relations that bind the two friendly peoples. Dr. Malki briefed his counterpart on the recent developments in Palestine including the efforts of the Palestinian leadership to confront the attempts of the American administration to liquidate the Palestinian cause by taking unilateral actions and adopting the Israeli vision. Al-Malki also thanked his Bolivian counterpart for his country’s support to Palestine and the willingness of Bolivia to defend Palestine and its people in all international forums, especially in the United Nations.

He also confirmed the continuous support by the State of Palestine by providing Palestinian expertise and know-how in many fields for the service of Bolivia.

H.E. Minister Rodriguez stressed that the signed agreement between Palestine and Bolivia is a fundamental step towards a strong cooperation between the two brotherly countries on all levels. He pointed out that the Palestinian cause is central to Bolivia and constitutes an essential part of Bolivian foreign policy. He also stated that actual and practical bilateral relations with Palestine through the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency and the Palestinian Embassy in Bolivia is a source of pride for his country and will follow the details of the course of cooperation personally.

The agreement between the two parties includes cooperation in various fields of development, including agriculture, health, energy and other development fields. It also includes a number of activities and programs that will be implemented to realize the common interests of both countries and meet the relevant development needs.

The Palestinian International Cooperation Agency and in cooperation with local partners will match the human resources and expertise with expressed Bolivian needs, and will implement a number of programs during the next few months.
