The Israeli occupation authorities continue to escalate their repressive measures against our people and their land, and carries on in committing more serious violations of the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law, in a deliberate defiance of international legitimacy and the United Nations, and in public disregard of the UN resolutions on the situation in Palestine. Every day, the Israeli occupation authorities commit more violations exploiting the blind American bias of their racist policies and positions as a cover to expand settlements in the State of Palestine and continue to enact racist laws and regulations that facilitate the confiscation of Palestinian land, in addition to killing our people, which openly establishes an apartheid system in Palestine. Among these measures is a draft law that prohibits recording Israeli soldiers while they’re oppressing our people. In addition to what the Israeli media reported on an Israeli plan to regulate the ownership of settlements by “leasing the land” to settlers, and facilitating settlement construction without making a fuss in order to speed up their legitimacy of the land. HRW re-exposed the involvement of Israeli banks in (providing services and assistance to support, and expand illegal settlements and finance their construction in the occupied West Bank.) similar to what happened the village of Kafr Malik, where the settlers uprooted more than 100 grape vines in the village and destroyed them, they also poisoned the sheep in Salem village. The widespread Israeli war against our people has increased during the holy month of Ramadan, especially the aggression on the public waker for sahur and dawn prayer during Ramadan “Mesaharati” in the Saadiya neighborhood in the old city in Jerusalem for allegedly posing an “inconvenience” to settlers.
The Ministry strongly condemns the collective and widespread aggression against our people and the land, and advice against dealing with the continuous Israeli violations as a routine matter and mere statistics. It considers this aggression an Israeli response to the Palestinian-Kuwaiti draft resolution to the Security Council to demand international protection for the Palestinian people. The ministry calls upon the Security Council to adopt this draft resolution and calls on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to expedite the activation of the international legal mechanisms and procedures that protect our people against the occupation and its continuing crimes. The United Nations, its institutions and its councils are called upon to protect its remaining credibility to provide protection for the Palestinians against the occupation, colonization and colonialist crimes against our people.
