The official Palestinian delegation to Guatemala holds several official, parliamentary, religious and media meetings during its official visit

Guatemala – 26 January,

A high-level Palestinian delegation headed by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates ended its visit to the Republic of Guatemala on Wednesday evening. it  was the first official visit , to the region, it included a series of official and popular meetings; It began with a group of members of the Guatemalan national Parliament from various political parties, where the Palestinian side put them in the form of Palestinian political developments and violations Of the Palestinian people and addressed the issue of the transfer of the Embassy of their country to Jerusalem, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international legality, explaining their opposition to this resolution, given its dire consequences for Guatemala.  The two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and to work on the exchange of parliamentary visits.

The delegation then met with the Chairman of the Guatemalan Human Rights Commission, Ms. Gabriela Mundo Rodríguez, and updated her with the human rights situation in Palestine and the systematic Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.

For its part, Rodriguez has placed the Palestinian delegation in the form of the situation in Guatemala and the human rights violations practiced by various sides.

The delegation then followed its meetings with the religious and church side specifically, where it met with the church complex in Guatemala, which includes a wide range of evangelical churches from different regions. The issue of the transfer of Guatemala to Jerusalem has been addressed

This was followed by a briefing with the head of the delegation, Counsellor Hanan Jarrar, and Ms. Vera Papon by the official newspaper in Guatemala, followed by a television interview in which a message was sent to the people and the Guatemalan Government in particular and the legal and religious status of the city of Jerusalem.

The delegation concluded its visit with an extensive meeting with the community, during which the attendees were placed in the form of internal and regional political conditions, and the challenges facing Palestine at various levels, which require more unity and solidarity between all at home and abroad. For their part, the community briefed the guest delegation through the Honorary Consul of Palestine in Guatemala, Mr. Jamal Horseshoe, on the conditions of the Guatemalan community, the challenges it faces and the need for cooperation, communication and unity.

The Meetings in Guatemala were attended by the Assistant Secretary for the Americas and the Caribbean in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates, Counsellor Hanan Jarrar, Ambassador Marwan al-Borini, Ambassador of the State of Palestine in El Salvador, member of the National Council and former mayor of Bethlehem Ms. Vera Papon, human rights activist, international law expert Dr. Jonathan Kuttab, member of the National Council Mr. Fayez al-Sakka, and Central American relations officer Linda Dar Issa.
