Ministry of Foreign affairs and expatriate receives the non-Resident representative of Singapore in the state of Palestine

The Director of the Asia department , Chancellor Rana Abu Hakmeh met today  at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates, the representative of the non-resident Republic of Singapore Mr. Deby In the framework of his visit to the State of Palestine to follow up the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and to participate in the meeting of senior Officials of East Asian States in support of development in Palestine (CEAPAD) as representative of the Republic of Singapore.

 

In her turn, Chancellor Rana thanked , Mr. Deby, for the clear and growing support of Singapore, which is geared towards building Palestinian human and institutional capacities, through multiple courses that have benefited dozens of Palestinian cadres working in various sectors and official institutions, and have stressed the satisfaction of the Palestinian side with the level of development in the framework of bilateral relations with Singapore, and looked forward to the development of the political relations between the two friendly countries, culminating in Singapore's near recognition of the state of Palestine, in line with the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state On the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, the Palestinian side looked forward to Singapore's always positive vote in favor of resolutions on Palestine in the United Nations.

 

For his part, Mr. Deby stressed the firm position of the Republic of Singapore on the Palestinian issue, the two-state solution and the right to self-determination, and his country's continued support for Palestinian institutions. He added that under this difficult political and economic period of the Palestinian people, it is important to work on the recruitment of expertise and specialized missions, and to support various sectors in the areas of good governance, anti-corruption, education, industry, investment and information technology.

 

In conclusion, the two sides agreed on the importance of arranging the second round of political consultations between the two countries as soon as possible and continue the necessary efforts to strengthen and consolidate the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Third Secretary Ahlam Taha, director of the Southeast Asia Department, diplomat's attaché Najla Abu Shalbak from the media unit, and Amanda Chea,  responsible for the state of Palestine file at the Singapore foreign Ministry.
