Ministry of Foreign affairs and expatriate receives Danish Deputy Minister of State

The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates for European affairs, Ambassador Dr. Amal Jado, received the Deputy Minister of State of the Danish Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Lisbet Zilmer Johns and her delegation, at the ministry's headquarters in Ramallah.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Jado welcomed the guest delegation and thanked them for their positions in support of the Palestinian cause and the rights of our Palestinian people, and praised the strong relationship between the two countries and the bilateral relations, as well as the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.

Jado updated them of the  Israeli  violations of the occupying Power, in particular the deepening of the settlement and the attempts to Judaize the West Bank and Jerusalem from repeated incursions and ongoing attacks against unarmed civilians, and said , the suffering of our people in the Gaza Strip and the efforts Israel to avoid a two-state solution on the ground in flagrant defiance of all international instruments by legitimizing Israeli violations through the Knesset, such as the "Settlement Law", which aims to whiten the outposts and build settlements in the settlement without the approval of the Israeli Government and the "law "which violates the rights of Palestinian citizens at home and strengthens settlements. Jado referred to the financial crisis, from which Palestine is concerned by the Israeli occupation authorities ' piracy tax revenues.

Jado also touched on the systematic terror of settlers in the West Bank, which is under the protection of the Army and the Israeli occupation police under the protection of the United States, encouraging the occupying government to persist in its actions on the ground and to persist in violating international law and international legality, explaining the dire consequences of Deepening the settlement by thwarting the two-state solution and thwarting the entire peace process.

Jado expressed deep appreciation for Denmark's continued support for the state of Palestine, its assistance and firm commitment in supporting the two-state solution, appreciating its stance on Trump's decision to cut off the funding of "UNRWA" and cutting aid for the Palestinians, as well as Denmark's recognition of the state of Palestine.

For her part, Ms. Johns expressed her Government's support for a two-state solution and for peaceful negotiations, as well as for the country's continued stance of rejecting settlement. It was also agreed that a future political consultation session would be held in the Danish kingdom.

The meeting was attended by advisor Ihab al-Mushy, director of the Western Europe Department, Third Secretary Yara Dejart, file officer, Third Secretary Camelia Arori from the media, and the Danish side director of the representative office of Denmark in Palestine Ambassador Natalia Freenberg and her deputy Helen Storm.
