The State of Palestine and Luxembourg Agreed on Activating Bilateral Cooperation

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of The Luxembourg agreed upon activating bilateral cooperation and expand it to include economic, financial, educational and cultural fields. The meeting was attended by two high-level delegations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Duchy of Luxembourg, where the Palestinian delegation was headed by the Palestinian Foreign Minister advisor for European Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Amal Jadou, , Ambassador of Palestine to Belgium, the European Union, and Luxemburg his excellency Abdalrahim Alfarra, in addition to the political director of the sector of bilateral relations in the Luxembourgian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Olivar Maes.

The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as the developments on the regional and international arenas. Ambassador Jadou reflected on the latest developments regarding the Palestinian issue, stressing the dangers of the Israeli racist policies against the Palestinian people and their property with the support of the American administration to authorize the so-called deal of the Century.

Her Excellency praised the continuous support of Luxembourg to the Palestinian leadership in its efforts to end the occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital. Dr. Jadou applauded the political and financial support of UNRWA because of its importance, as this support reached the Palestinian cause at the level of Palestinian refugees and their right to return. For his part, Ambassador Oliver Maes expressed his country's commitment to support the two-state solution rejecting colonization in violation of international laws, indicating the Luxembourgian government desire to strengthen the relationship with Palestine in various fields.

The two sides agreed on the importance of regularity of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, including the exchange of visits between the two parties at the level of foreign ministers. In addition to holding a joint committee concerning different sectors.
